Honda has released a teaser image of the new 2012 Honda Civic hatch it plans to unveil at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show later this month. The teaser shot previews the all-new rear hatch design.
The new 2012 Honda Civic hatch has been designed for the European market and will come in five-door hatch form only. Honda says the next-generation model will showcase a more aerodynamic body with a rear hatch that combines a brake light and spoiler into one contour.

As a longtime Civic Si owner, I know what it’s like to wait in anticipation for that next generation model, hoping (sometimes praying) that it’s every bit as good as the last one was. I never thought anything would be better than my old ’91 Si, but then the EG hatch came along. I wasn’t crazy about the rounded shape but the ease of transplanting a twin-cam engine into it made it lovable; same goes for the EK hatch (technically speaking, we know there was a decent coupe) although we can never understand why no Si model came about or... Natural-gas powered Honda Civic GX can stay in California HOV lane
Honda Civic GX drivers are walking around California screaming “IN YOUR FACE” to hybrid drivers as they continue to have access to the high-occupancy-vehicle lane, even if just one person in the car.
On July 1, yellow-stickered partial hybrid vehicles were banned from HOV areas but natural-gas-powered vehicles get to use it for another four years. Hybrids will now have to carry at least 2 people in the vehicle to access the carpool gain.
